Popile Inc. Site: Proposed Settlement

AGENCY: Environmental Protection Agency.

ACTION: Notice of proposed settlement.

SUMMARY: Under Section 122(h) of the Comprehensive Environmental 
Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), the Environmental 
Protection Agency (EPA) has agreed to settle claims for past response 
costs at the Popile Inc. Site, El Dorado County, Arkansas, with the 
following parties:

James Cuthbertson, Popile Inc.

    EPA will consider public comments on the proposed settlement for 
thirty (30) days. EPA may withdraw from or modify the proposed 
settlement, should comments disclose facts or considerations which 
indicate the proposed settlement is inappropriate, improper or 
inadequate. Copies of the proposed settlement are available from: Mr. 
John Burleson, telephone [phone], Cost Recovery Section (Mail 
Code 6H-EC), Hazardous Waste Management Division, U.S. EPA, Region 6, 
1445 Ross Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75202-2733.
    Written comments may be submitted to the person above by September 
22, 1994.
