John E. Fogarty International Center for Advanced Study in the
Health Sciences; Meeting of the Fogarty International Center Advisory
Board
Pursuant to Pub. L. 92-463, notice is hereby given of the thirty-
first meeting of the Fogarty International Center (FIC) Advisory Board,
September 12, 1995, in the Lawton Chiles International House (Building
16), at the National Institutes of Health.
The meeting will be open to the public from 8:30 a.m. to noon. In
addition to a report by the Director, FIC, and a report on the Advisory
Committee to the Director, NIH, the agenda will focus on U.S.-Japan
Scientific Cooperation. The agenda will feature a historic overview;
the role of science and technology in the U.S.-Japan relationship; FIC
program plans; and a presentation on protein engineering in Japan and
other biotechnology issues. In addition, the agenda will include a
presentation on the status of the FIC long-range plan.
In accordance with the provisions of Secs. 552b(c)(4) and
552b(c)(6), Title 5, U.S.C. and sec. 10(d) of Pub. L. 92-463, the
meeting will be closed to the public from 1:15 p.m. to adjournment for
the review of applications to the Senior International Fellowship
Program; Fogarty International Research Collaboration and HIV, AIDS and
Related Illness Collaboration Awards; International Training and
Research in Environmental and Occupational Health Awards; International
Training and Research in Population and Health Awards; and
Bioprospecting Opportunity Awards.
