Background
This notice is to clarify eligibility for the National Institute of
Justice solicitation, NIJ Requests Proposals for Research in Action
Partnerships (July 1995). The solicitation is open to national
professional and membership organizations representing various
professional groups within criminal justice or elected officials at the
State or local level. National membership organizations focused on
crime prevention and crime control activities are eligible to apply
under this competitive solicitation, independent of whether their
members are full time employees of law enforcement and criminal justice
organizations. Through this solicitation the National Institute of
Justice is seeking to encourage the development of partnerships, with
two goals in mind--to encourage the understanding and use of research
results, and to encourage the use of new communications technologies.
