Duke Power Company; Withdrawal of Application for Amendment to
Facility Operating License
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (the Commission) has granted
the request of Duke Power Company (the licensee) to withdraw its May
13, 1993, application for proposed amendments to Facility Operating
License Nos. NPF-9 and NPF-17 for the McGuire Nuclear Station, Units 1
and 2, located in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.
The proposed amendments would have reduced the maximum allowable
power range neutron flux high setpoints with inoperable steam line
safety valves during four-loop operation.
The Commission had previously issued a Notice of Consideration of
Issuance of Amendment published in the Federal Register on August 4,
1993 (58 FR 41504). However, by letter dated August 1, 1994, the
licensee withdrew the proposed change.

application for amendment dated May 13, 1993, and the licensee's letter
dated August 1, 1994, which withdrew the application for license
amendment. The above documents are available for public inspection at
