Approval and Promulgation of Implementation Plans and Designation
of Areas for Air Quality Planning Purposes; Indiana
AGENCY: United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA)
ACTION: Final rule; withdrawal.

SUMMARY: On July 8, 1994, (59 FR 35044) the United States Environmental
Protection Agency (USEPA) approved a revision to the Indiana State
Implementation Plan (SIP) for ozone. The action approved a request by
Indiana to redesignate the following ozone nonattainment areas: St.
Joseph and Elkhart, Vanderburgh, and Marion Counties to attainment of
the National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) for ozone. The USEPA
also approved the State's maintenance plan for these counties. The
USEPA is withdrawing this final rule due to the adverse comments
received on these actions. In a subsequent final rule USEPA will
summarize and respond to the comments received and announce final
rulemaking action on this requested Indiana SIP revision and
redesignation.
EFFECTIVE DATE: August 26, 1994.
