    Notice of Resource Advisory Council Meeting
    
    AGENCY: Bureau of Land Management, Northwest California Resource 
    Advisory Council, Arcata, California.
    
    ACTION: Notice of meeting.

    SUMMARY: Pursuant to the authorities in the Federal Advisory Committees 
    Act (Pub. L. 92-463) and the Federal Land Policy and Management Act 
    (Pub. L. 94-579), the U. S. Bureau of Land Management's Northwest 
    California Resource Advisory Council will meet Thursday and Friday, 
    Oct. 1 and 2, 1998, at the Bureau of Land Management's Arcata Field 
    Office, 1695 Heindon Rd., Arcata, CA.
    
    SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The meeting begins at 10 a.m. Oct. 1 in the 
    Conference Room of the BLM office. Agenda topics include: a status 
    report on development of a land use plan for Clear Creek, a status 
    report on implementation of Healthy Rangeland Standards and Guidelines, 
    a status report on Black Sands Beach, an update on development of BLM-
    California's strategic plan, information on acquisition of the Payne 
    Ranch, a status report on management of the South Spit at Humboldt Bay, 
    and a discussion of the council charter and work expectations for the 
    coming year. Public comments will be taken at 1 p.m. Depending on the 
    number of persons wishing to speak, a time limit may be set. On Friday, 
    Oct. 3, the council and BLM staff will convene at 8 a.m. at the BLM 
    Arcata Office and depart immediately for a tour of the South Spit, 
    Humboldt Bay. Members of the public are welcome, but they must provide 
    their own transportation.
