Gulf States Transmission Corporation; Notice of Compliance Filing

August 25, 1998.
    Take notice that on August 21, 1998, Gulf States Transmission 
Corporation (Gulf States), tendered for filing and acceptance Sub 
Second Revised Sheet No. 58G for inclusion in Gulf States FERC Gas 
Tariff, Original Volume No. 1. Gulf States requests that this revised 
tariff sheet be deemed effective August 1, 1998.
    Gulf States assert that Sub Second Revised Sheet No. 58G is filed 
in compliance with the Commission's August 7, 1998 Letter Order in the 
above-referenced docket and incorporates by reference the Gas Industry 
Standards Board Standards 5.3.22 through 5.3.29 into its tariff.
    Any person desiring to protest this filing should file a protest 
with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, NE., 
Washington, DC 20426, in accordance with Section 385.211 of the 
Commission's Rules and Regulations. All such protests must be filed as 
provided in Section 154.210 of the Commission's Regulations. Protests 
will be considered by the Commission in determining the appropriate 
action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants parties to 
the proceedings. Copies of this filing are on file with the Commission 
and are available for public inspection in the Public Reference Room.
