    ACTION: Notice of Intent.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY: The Los Angeles District intends to prepare an EIS to support
the proposed Federal action associated with a feasibility study along
the Salt River between 83rd Avenue and the confluence of the Agua Fria
River in Maricopa County, Arizona. The purpose of the study is to
examine water resources opportunities in the study area including
ecosystem restoration, flood control, water quality, water supply and
recreation. The proposed project alternatives would address these
specific areas of concern, as well as a no action alternative. The EIS
will analyze potential impacts on the environment of a range of
    alternatives, including the recommended plan.
