River Wild and Scenic Corridor; Oregon
AGENCY: Bureau of Land Management.
ACTION: Notice.

SUMMARY: This notice announces the schedule and agenda for a
forthcoming public meeting that will provide an opportunity for public
involvement regarding the Department of Agriculture, Forest Service's
application for protective withdrawal for the Elk River Wild and Scenic
Corridor in the Siskiyou National Forest.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: Notice is hereby given that a public meeting
will be held to provide an opportunity for public involvement regarding
the application by the Department of Agriculture, Forest Service for a
20-year protective withdrawal as to 4,921 acres of National Forest
System lands in Curry County, Oregon.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m., Wednesday, September 21, 1994, at
the Port Orford City Hall, 555 20th Street, Port Orford, Oregon. The
agenda will include (1) an information briefing by the Bureau of Land
Management; (2) an information briefing by the Forest Service; (3) oral
statements by interested parties; and (4) a question and answer period.
The meeting is open to the public. Interested parties may make oral
statements at the meeting and/or may file written statements with the
Bureau of Land Management, Oregon State Office. Oral statements should
be limited to five minutes per party. All statements received will be
considered by the Bureau of Land Management before any recommendation
concerning the proposed land withdrawal is submitted to the Secretary
of Interior for final action under the authority of Section 204 of the
Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976 (43 U.S.C. 1714).
