[Docket No. RP99-472-000]
Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Corporation; Notice of filing
August 23, 1999.
Take notice that on August 18, 1999, Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line
Corporation tendered for filing certain revised tariff sheets to its
FERC Gas Tariff, Third Revised Volume No. 1, which tariff sheets are
enumerated in Appendix A attached thereto. The proposed effective date
of the revised tariff sheets is October 1, 1999.
Transco states that the purpose of the instant filing is to revise
Transco's tariff to update the negotiated rate authority contained
therein to reflect developments in Commission policy relating to
negotiated rates. Transco initially filed tariff sheets in Docket No.
RP96-359 to establish the flexibility under its tariff to negotiate
rates in accordance with the Commission's Statement of Policy on
Alternatives to Traditional Cost-of-Service Ratemaking for Natural Gas
Pipelines in Docket No. RM95-6-000, which tariff sheets were approved
by the Commission. Since that filing, the Commission has further
refined its negotiated rate policy in numerous individual pipeline
proceedings. Transco proposes herein to revise its tariff to reflect,
among other things, those refinements in order to provide to Transco
and its shippers the full range of flexibility to negotiate rates for
service consistent with Commission policy.
Any person desiring to be heard or to protest said filing should
file a motion to intervene or a protest with the Federal Energy
Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, NE, Washington, DC 20426, in
accordance with Sections 385.214 or 385.211 of the Commission's Rules
and Regulations. All such motions or protests must be filed in
accordance with Section 154.210 of the Commission's Regulations.
Protests will be considered by the Commission in determining the
appropriate action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants
parties to the proceedings. Any person wishing to become a party must
file a motion to intervene. Copies of this filing are on file with the
Commission and are available for public inspection in the Public
Reference Room. This filing may be viewed on the web at http://
