    DOC has submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for 
clearance the following proposal for collection of information under 
the provisions of the Paperwork Reduction Act (44 U.S.C. chapter 35).
    Agency: Bureau of Economic Analysis.
    Title: Benchmark Survey of Financial Services Transactions Between 
U.S. Financial Services Providers and Unaffiliated Foreign Persons -- 
1994.
    Form Number(s): BE-80.
    Agency Approval Number: None.
    Type of Request: New collection.
    Burden: 6,000 hours.
    Number of Respondents: 800.
    Avg Hours Per Response: 7.5 hours.
    Needs and Uses: This survey will obtain universe data on financial 
services transactions between U.S. financial services providers and 
unaffiliated foreign persons in 1994. The data from the survey will 
provide benchmarks for deriving current universe estimates of such 
transactions from sample data collected in subsequent years. The 
information gathered is needed to support U.S. trade policy 
initiatives, including trade negotiations, and to compile the U.S. 
balance of payments and the national income and product accounts.
    Affected Public: Businesses, state and local government agencies, 
or other institutions engaging in international financial services 
transactions.
    Frequency: Quinquennially.
    Respondent's Obligation: Mandatory.
