Risk Assessment and Risk Management Commission

    Pursuant to the Federal Advisory Committee Act, Public Law 92-463, 
notice is hereby given that the Risk Assessment and Risk Management 
Commission, established as an Advisory Committee under section 303 of 
the clean Air Act Amendments of 1990, will cease to exist on August 29, 
1997.
    The Commission was formed to make a full investigation of the 
policy implications and appropriate uses of risk assessment and risk 
management in regulatory programs under various Federal laws to prevent 
cancer and other chronic human effects which may result from exposure 
to hazardous substances.
    The Commission has issued a two-volume report. The first volume 
focuses on out Environmental Health Risk Management Framework and its 
implementation. This publication has been prepared for regulatory 
authorities and others who may participate in the risk management 
process as risk managers or stakeholders. Volume 2 addresses many other 
issues related to health and environmental risk-based decisions, 
including recommendations for specific federal regulatory programs and 
agencies.
