Columbia Gulf Transmission Company; Notice of Compliance Filing

    July 31, 1997.
Take notice that on July 28, 1997, Columbia Gulf Transmission
Company (Columbia Gulf) tendered for filing as part of its FERC Gulf
Tariff, Second Revised Volume No 1, the following

    [[Page 42241]]

revised tariff sheets proposed to become effective June 1, 1997:

    First Revised Sheet No. 155A
    First Revised Sheet No. 414

On July 16, 1997, the Commission issued an Order regarding Columbia
Gulf's compliance filing, filed on May 27, 1997, to implement the Gas
Industry Standards Board's standards adopted by the Commission in Order
No. 587. In the Order the Commission rejected the indemnification
provision proposed in Columbia Gulf's Trading Partner Agreement, and
directed Columbia Gulf to modify its tariff to reflect the same
liability standards applicable to both EDM operations and Columbia Gulf
other equipment and operations. The Commission also directed Columbia
Gulf to incorporate verbatim Standard 1.3.2 to remove any potential
ambiguity regarding when shippers are to receive the information
required to be provided in accordance with Standard 1.3.2. This filing
    complies with those directives.
Any person desiring to protest this filing should file a protest
with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street N.E.,
Washington, D.C. 20426, in accordance with Sec. 385.211 of the
Commission's Rules and Regulations. Protests will be considered by the
Commission in determining the appropriate action to be taken but will
not serve to make protests as parties to the proceeding. Copies of this
filing are on file with the Commission and are available for public
inspection in the Public Reference Room.
    Lois D. Cashell,
    Secretary.
