FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION
16 CFR Part 800
Rules, Regulations, Statements and Interpretations Under the
Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976
AGENCY: Federal Trade Commission.
ACTION: Notice of Extension of Comment Period.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
SUMMARY: The Commission has extended until August 26, 1994, the time
period within which comments will be received on the proposed
amendments to the Premerger Notification and Report Form that parties
are required to file with the Federal Trade Commission and the
Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Antitrust Division of the
Department of Justice before consummating certain mergers and
acquisitions. The proposed amendments are designed to improve the
premerger notification program by requiring persons to submit certain
new and more up-to-date information and also to reduce the burden of
compliance by raising thresholds of several items consistent with the
agencies' information needs. The original request for comments was
announced in the Federal Register of June 14, 1994 (59 FR 30545).
DATES: Written comments will be accepted on the proposed changes to the
Premerger Notification and Report Form on or before August 26, 1994.
ADDRESSES: Written comments should be submitted to both (1) the
Secretary, Federal Trade Commission, room 136, Washington, DC 20580,
and (2) the Assistant Attorney General, Antitrust Division, Department
of Justice, room 3214, Washington, DC 20530.
