The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) will submit to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for clearance the following proposal for collection of information under the provisions of the Paperwork Reduction Act (44 U.S.C. Chapter 35).

Title: Secrecy and License to Export.
Form Number(s): None.
Agency Approval Number: 0651-0034.
Type of Request: Extension of a currently approved collection.
Burden: 1,538 hours annually.
Number of Respondents: 1,794 responses per year.
Avg. Hours Per Response: The USPTO estimates that it will take the public between 30 minutes (0.5 hours) and 4 hours, depending upon the complexity of the situation, to gather the necessary information, prepare, and submit the requirements in this collection.
Needs and Uses: This information is required by 35 U.S.C. 181-188 and administered by the USPTO through 37 CFR 5.1-5.33 and 1.17. This collection includes the information needed by the USPTO to review and issue or revoke the various types of petitions regarding secrecy orders and foreign filing licenses. Response to this information collection is necessary to obtain a permit to disclose, modify or rescind a secrecy order; to obtain general or group Start Printed Page 47771permits; to obtain foreign filing and retroactive licenses; or to change the scope of a license.
Affected Public: Individuals or households; businesses or other for-profits; not-for-profit institutions.
