South Georgia Natural Gas Company; Notice of Proposed Changes in
    FERC Gas Tariff

    September 5, 1996.
Take notice that on August 30, 1996, South Georgia Natural Gas
Company (South Georgia) tendered for filing to become part of its FERC
Gas Tariff, Second Revised Volume No. 1, the following revised sheets,
with a proposed effective date of October 1, 1996:

    Fifth Revised Sheet No. 5
    Fifth Revised Sheet No. 6
    Second Revised Sheet No. 91

South Georgia states that the aforesaid tariff sheets implement the
Commission's revised Annual Charge Adjustment (ACA) of .20 cents per
MMBtu. This represents a decrease of .03 cents per MMBtu in the ACA
charge from the current level of .23 cents per MMBtu.
South Georgia states that copies of South Georgia's filing were
served upon all of South Georgia's customers, interested state
    commissions and interested parties.
Any person desiring to be heard or to protest said filing should
file a petition to intervene or protest with the Federal Energy
    Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, N.E., Washington, D.C. 20426,
in accordance with Rules 214 and 211 of the Commission's Rules of
Practice and Procedure (Sections 385.214, 385.211). All such motions or
protests must be filed as provided in Section 154.210 of the
Commission's Regulations. Protests will be considered by the Commission
in determining the appropriate action to be taken but will not serve to
make the protestants parties to the proceeding. Any person wishing to
become a party must file a petition to intervene. Copies of this filing
are on file with the Commission and are available for public
    inspection.
    Lois D. Cashell,
