    MARINE MAMMAL COMMISSION
    
    TIME AND DATE: The Marine Mammal Commission and its Committee of 
    Scientific Advisors on Marine Mammals will meet in executive session on 
    Wednesday, November 16, 1994 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. The public 
    sessions of the Commission and the Committee meeting will be held on 
    Wednesday, November 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., on Thursday, 
    November 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:40 p.m., and on Friday, November 18, 
    from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
    
    PLACE: The Coonamessett Inn, Jones Road and Gifford Street, Falmouth, 
    Massachusetts 02541.
    
    STATUS: The executive session will be closed to the public. At it, 
    matters relating to personnel, the internal practices of the 
    Commission, and international negotiations in process will be 
    discussed. All other portions of the meeting will be open to public 
    observation. Public participation will be allowed if time permits and 
    it is determined to be desirable by the Chairman.
    
    MATTERS TO BE CONSIDERED: The Commission and Committee will meet in 
    public session to discuss a broad range of marine mammal matters. While 
    subject to change, major issues that the Commission plans to consider 
    at the meeting include: implementation of the 1994 amendments to the 
    Marine Mammal Protection Act; the status and incidental take of harbor 
    porpoise; right and humpback whales in the North Atlantic; 
    reintroduction of captive marine mammals to the wild; the status of 
    marine mammals in Alaska; the proposed Acoustic Thermography of Ocean 
    Climate (ATOC) experiment; and the gray whale, Hawaiian monk seal, and 
    West Indian manatee.
