NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION
 

Notice of Workshop

    The National Science Foundation ((NSF), in cooperation with the 
American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), will hold a two and 
one-half day workshop on October 27-29, 1994. The workshop will take 
place at the Sheraton City Centre Hotel, 1143 New Hampshire Ave. NW, 
Washington, Dc 202-775-0880. The session will be held from 12 noon to 9 
pm on Thursday, 8:30 am to 5 pm on Friday, and 8:30 to 12 noon on 
Saturday.
    The purpose of the workshop is to bring together principal 
investigators, industry representatives and other experts to focus on 
critical issues relating to science and engineering advanced 
technological education. We hope to develop a joint industrial and 
educational vision for the program. The overall quest is to answer the 
question: ``How can we build and implement a program to impact and 
shape the quality of the technological workforce?''
    The Workshop will not operate as an advisory committee. It will be 
open to the public. Participants will include approximately 80 leaders 
in science, engineering, mathematics, education and industry.
