Alabama-Tennessee Natural Gas Company; Notice of Compliance 
Filing

September 10, 1996.
    Take notice that September 5, 1996, Alabama-Tennessee Natural Gas 
Company (Alabama-Tennessee) tendered for filing as part of its FERC Gas 
Tariff, Second Revised Volume No. 1, the following tariff sheet with a 
proposed effective date of September 1, 1996:

Twelfth Revised Sheet No. 4

    Alabama-Tennessee states that the purpose of the filing is to 
implement a 6% reduction in its transportation rates in compliance with 
the letter order issued in Docket No. RP92-237-028 on August 29, 1996.
    Any person desiring to protest said filing should file a protest 
with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, NE., 
Washington, DC 20426, in accordance with Rule 211 of the Commission's 
Rules of Practice and Procedure (18 CFR 385.211). All such protests 
must be filed as provided in Section 154.210 of the Commission's 
Regulations. Protests will be considered by the Commission in 
determining the appropriate action to be taken but will not serve to 
make protestants parties to the proceeding. Copies of this filing are 
on file with the Commission and are available for public inspection.
