Applicants Fiscal Year 1996
AGENCY: Office of the Assistant Secretary for Public and Indian

ACTION: Announcement of funding awards.

SUMMARY: In accordance with section 102(a)(4)(C) of the Department of
Housing and Urban Development Reform Act of 1989, this document
notifies the public of funding awards for Fiscal Year 1996 for the
Indian HOME Program for Indian applicants. The purpose of this notice
is to publish the names and addresses of the award winners and the
amount of the awards made available by HUD to provide assistance to the
Indian applicants under the HOME Program.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The Indian HOME Program funding for Fiscal
Year 1996 is authorized by the HOME Investment Partnerships Act (the
HOME Act) signed into law on November 28, 1990 (Pub. L. 101-625). The
HOME Act was amended by the Housing and Community Development Act of
1992 (Pub. L. 102-550, approved October 28, 1992) and the Multifamily
Housing Property Disposition Reform Act of 1994 (Pub. L. 102-233,
approved April 11, 1994).
This Notice announces FY 1996 funding of $14,000,000 to be used to
assist in the funding to Indian tribes to expand the supply of
affordable housing for very low-income and low-income persons. The FY
1996 awards announced in this Notice were selected for funding
consistent with the provisions in the Notice of Funding Availability
(NOFA) published in the Federal Register on March 27, 1996 (61 FR
13574).
The Indian HOME Program for Indian Applicants is listed in the
Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance as number 14.239.
In accordance with section 102(a)(4)(C) of the Department of
Housing and Urban Development Reform Act of 1989 (Pub. L. 101-235,
approved December 15, 1989), the Department is hereby publishing the
names, addresses, and amounts of those awards as shown in Appendix A.
