Amendments to Transportation Allowance Regulations for Federal 
and Indian Leases to Specify Allowable Costs and Related Amendments to 
Gas Valuation Regulations

AGENCY: Minerals Management Service, Interior.

ACTION: Proposed rule; notice of extension of public comment period.

SUMMARY: The Minerals Management Service (MMS) hereby gives notice that 
it is extending the public comment period on a Notice of Proposed 
Rulemaking, which was published in the Federal Register on July 31, 
1996 (61 FR 39931). The proposed rule would amend the regulations 
governing allowances for transportation of gas and clarify the methods 
by which gas royalties and deductions for gas transportation are 
calculated. In response to requests for additional time, MMS will 
extend the comment period from September 30, 1996, to October 30, 1996.

DATES: Comments must be received by 4 p.m. Mountain time on October 30, 
1996.
