SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:
Office of Air and Radiation
Title: New Source Review and Prevention of Significant
Deterioration Permitting Programs (EPA ICR #1230.08; OMB
#2060-0003). This ICR requests an 18 month renewal of the existing
clearance while the Agency revises the underlying regulations at 40 CFR
parts 51 and 52.
Abstract: New and modified stationary sources must supply
information on estimated emissions, proposed control technology, and
air quality impact when applying for a preconstruction permit. EPA or
the State or local air pollution control agency uses the information in
the permit application to ensure that all regulatory requirements are
being met and that the new emissions, in conjunction with existing
source emissions in the same area, will not interfere with the
attainment or maintenance of the national ambient air quality
standards.
The average annual burden to respondents for this collection of
information is approximately 5,000 hours per year. This includes time
for reviewing instructions, searching existing data sources, gathering
and maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the
collection of information.
Respondents: Owers or operators of new or modified sources of air
pollution.
Estimated Number of Respondents: 20,410.
Estimated Total Annual Burden on Respondents: 1,006,070 hours.
Frequency of Collection: On occasion.
Send comments regarding the burden estimate, or any other aspect of
this information collection, including suggestions for reducing the
burden, (please refer to EPA ICR #1230.08 and OMB #2060-0003)
