Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation, BNSF Acquisition Corp., 
and Burlington Northern Railroad Company--Control--Washington Central 
Railroad Company, Inc.

    On September 4, 1996, the Surface Transportation Board's Section of 
Environmental Analysis (SEA) issued an environmental assessment in this 
proceeding and requested written comments regarding environmental 
concerns be submitted to the Board by September 24, 1996. SEA notifies 
all the parties that the comment period is extended 10 days. Comments 
must be received at the Board by October 4, 1996.
