    San Diego Gas & Electric Company; Notice of Filing
    
    September 18, 1997.
        Take notice that on August 22, 1997, San Diego Gas & Electric 
    Company (SDG&E), tendered for filing and acceptance, pursuant to 18 CFR 
    35.13, Service Agreements (Service Agreements) with the following 
    entities for Point-To-Point Transmission Service under SDG&E's Open 
    Access Transmission Tariff (Tariff) filed in compliance with FERC Order 
    No. 888:
    
    1. Engage Energy US, L.P.
    2. NP Energy Inc.
    3. San Diego Gas & Electric Co. (Energy Trading)
    
        SDG&E filed the executed Service Agreements with the Commission in 
    compliance with applicable Commission regulations. SDG&E also provided 
    Sheet No. 114 (attachment E) to the Tariff, which is a list of 
    concurrent subscribers. SDG&E requests waiver of the Commission's 
    notice requirement to permit an effective date as specified in the 
    Attachment E to the Tariff.
        Copies of this filing were served upon the Public Utilities 
    Commission of the State of California and all interested parties.
        Any person desiring to be heard or to protest said filing should 
    file a motion to intervene or protest with the Federal Energy 
    Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, N.E., Washington, D.C. 20426, 
    in accordance with Rules 211 and 214 of the Commission's Rules of 
    Practice and Procedure (18 CFR 385.211 and 18 CFR 385.214). All such 
    motions or protests should be filed on or before September 30, 1997. 
    Protests will be considered by the Commission in determining the 
    appropriate action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants 
    parties to the proceeding. Any person wishing to make protestants 
    parties to the proceeding. Any person wishing to become a party must 
    file a motion to intervene. Copies of this filing are on file with the 
    Commission and are available for public inspection.
