filed with the Commission and is available for public inspection:

k. Description of Project:
The proposed run-of-river project would consist of the following
features: (1) An approximately 1,000-foot-long masonry dam to elevation
97.47 feet NGVD, topped with a 3.1-foot-high rubber dam; (2) upstream
and downstream fish passage facilities; (3) a 2,290-acre reservoir that
extends approximately 25 miles upstream; (4) a three-level canal system
adjacent to the river with headgates at the dam; (5) six separate
hydroelectric facilities, named Hadley Falls Station, Riverside
Station, Boatlock Station, Beebe-Holbrook Units, Skinner Unit and
Chemical Units, and, except for the Hadley Falls Station which has its
intake structure adjacent to the canal headgate structure, the
facilities withdraw water from the canal system; (6) a total nameplate
capacity of 43,756 kW; (7) transmission line connections; and (9)
appurtenant facilities. The applicant estimates that the total average
annual generation would be approximately 223,389 MWh.
l. With this notice, we are initiating consultation with the
Massachusetts State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO), as required
by section 106, National Historic Preservation Act, and the regulations
of the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, 36 CFR 800.4.
m. Pursuant to Sec. 4.32(b)(7) of 18 CFR of the Commission's
regulations, if any resource agency, Indian Tribe, or person believes
that an additional scientific study should be conducted in order to
form an adequate factual basis for a complete analysis of the
application on its merit, the resource agency, Indian Tribe, or person
must file a request for a study with the Commission not later than 60
days from the filing date and serve a copy of the request on the
applicant.
