State of Illinois

    As a result of the President's major disaster declaration on 
September 17, 1997, I find that Cook County, Illinois constitutes a 
disaster area due to damages caused by severe thunderstorms and flash 
flooding which occurred August 16-17, 1997. Applications for loans for 
physical damages may be filed until the close of business on November 
15, 1997, and for loans for economic injury until the close of business 
on June 17, 1998 at the address listed below or other locally announced 
locations: U.S. Small Business Administration, Disaster Area 2 Office, 
One Baltimore Place, Suite 300, Atlanta, GA 30308.
    In addition, applications for economic injury loans from small 
businesses located in the contiguous counties of Du Page, Kane, Lake, 
McHenry, and Will in Illinois, and Lake County, Indiana may be filed 
until the specified date at the above location.
    The interest rates are:

and for economic injury the numbers are 960900 for Illinois and 961000 
for Indiana.
