Federal-State Joint Board on Universal Service

AGENCY: Federal Communications Commission.

ACTION: Notice.

SUMMARY: On August 27, 1996 the Federal Communications Commission 
released a public notice, as required by law, to announce a meeting of 
the Federal-State Joint Board on September 13, 1996. The purpose of the 
notice is to inform the general public of a meeting that will be held 
by the Federal-State Joint Board on universal service.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The Federal-State Joint Board in CC Docket 
No. 96-45 will hold an Open Meeting on Friday, September 13, 1996 at 
9:00 a.m., in Room 856 at 1919 M Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. At the 
meeting, the Federal-State Joint Board will hear from a panel of 
experts addressing universal service issues set forth in Section 254 of 
the Telecommunications Act.
