Mall Intercept Survey File No. 270-393

Notice is hereby given that pursuant to the Paperwork Reduction Act
of 1980 (44 U.S.C. 3501 et seq), the Securities and Exchange Commission
(``Commission'') has submitted for OMB approval a request to conduct a
mall intercept survey to obtain information on what format and
presentation of information about mutual funds will make it easier for
investors to make inferences and make correct comparisons of fees,
expenses and risks for different funds. The results will enable the
Commission to better understand the level of investor comprehension of
mutual fund prospectuses. The mall intercept survey is estimated to
require a total of 33.33 burden hours. The burden hour per participant
will be .33 hours or 20 minutes.
Direct general comments to the Desk Officer for the Securities and
Exchange Commission at the address below. Direct any comments
concerning the accuracy of the estimated average burden hours for
compliance with the Commission rules and forms to David T. Copenhafer,
Acting Director, Office of Information Technology, Securities and
Exchange Commission, 450 Fifth Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20549 and
Desk Officer for the Securities and Exchange Commission, Office of
Management and Budget, Room 3208, New Executive Office Building,
