AGENCY: National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), National Oceanic and
Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Commerce.
ACTION: Issuance of scientific research permit no. 974 (P368F).

SUMMARY: Notice is hereby given that Mr. James Harvey, Assistant
Professor, Moss Landing Marine Laboratories, P.O. Box 450, Moss
Landing, CA 95039, has been issued a permit to take harbor seals for
purposes of scientific research.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: On June 21, 1995, notice was published in
the Federal Register that an application had been filed by the above-
named individual. The requested permit has been issued, under the
authority of the Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972 (MMPA) as amended
(16 U.S.C. 1361 et seq.), and the Regulations Governing the Taking and
Importing of Marine Mammals (50 CFR part 216).
