ACTION:
Notice of extension of comment period.
SUMMARY:
The Coast Guard is extending the comment period on the interim rule on rates for pilotage on the Great Lakes published in the Federal Register on March 10, 2005, for 30 days. This will extend the comment period to July 8, 2005. We are extending the comment period to allow the public more time to comment on this subject.
DATES:
Comments and related material must reach the Docket Management Facility on or before July 8, 2005.

We have an agreement with the Department of Transportation (DOT) to use the Docket Management Facility. Please see DOT's “Privacy Act” paragraph below.
Submitting comments: If you submit a comment, please include your name and address, identify the docket number for this rulemaking (USCG-2002-11288), indicate the specific section of this document to which each comment applies, and give the reason for each comment. Background and Purpose
On March 10, 2005, the Coast Guard published an interim rule in the Federal Register (70 FR 12082) to update the rates for pilotage on the Great Lakes.
In comments to the docket, the Coast Guard has received three requests from the public to extend the comment period by 30 days.
We have decided to grant this request for an extension of the comment period from June 8, 2005 to July 8, 2005. This will allow the Coast Guard to collect and review all comments before issuing a final rule.
