My concern is regarding the requirement of a background check including fingerprinting. I am totally in support of the fingerprinting, but in the state of WY it takes up to 2 months to get the results. When we are trying to comply with state regulations about ratios, and someone walks off the job, we need someone right away not 2 months down the road. There needs to be a system to get timely results which may mean a national database that the local police departments can have immediate access to or funding for more people to speed up the process in our state. Our facility is very conscientious about complying with the Department of Family Services rules, but all providers would have the same problem. Even our school districts complain about the time it takes to get results.
