On behalf of the California Association of Wheat Growers, I am pleased to provide comments on the proposed rule "Karnal Bunt: Criteria for Releasing Fields from Regulation, Docket No. 04-134-1." The California Association of Wheat Growers supports the change that allows a field to qualify for release from regulation after five cumulative years of specified management practices, instead of five consecutive years. We also support the efforts to work with importing countries to modify their regulations. We support t he overall goal that Karnal Bunt become a non-regulated disease.
