Re: Docket No. 03-086-1
As the premier marketer of specialty produce in the United States and the
company who is credited with importing the first Kiwifruit from NZ in 1962, we
would like to voice our support for allowing the importation of Citrus Fruit from New
Zealand. New Zealand is well known for theri excellent quality control and
commitment to excellent flavor, both of which will enhance the citrus market in the
USA.
I have reviewed the proposed conditions for the importation of New Zealand citrus
fruit as described in Importation of Fruits and Vegetables; 14th Periodic
Amendment (Docket No. 03-086-1, 22 December 2005) and am satisfied that
these will provide sufficient protection from the listed pests of concern.
Please accept this letter in support of the Citrus From New Zealand section of
Docket No. 03-086-1.
