Dear Dr. DeHaven, As an affected tomato grower in South Florida, we request a 90 day extension on the proposed Rule of Feb. 6, 2006 regarding the importation of pink and red tomatoes from certain Central American countries. If the most destructive pest in the world, the Medfly, gets into Florida, harm to our crops would be extensive and the economic damage great. We have already experienced a great many disasters, such as hurricanes and freezes, last year. We know what citrus canker has done to the citrus industry. Please save us and give a 90 day extension. The risk is too great to do otherwise. Sincerely, Joseph E. Hagan Hagan Farms, LLC
