The attrocious conditions that exist for elephants living in Zoo's and other animal viewing areas is rephrehensive and must be brought to an immediate halt. The Zoo's must be required to provide adequate dirt park like areas to eliminate the horrible and inhumane medical conditions of these beloved animals or the Zoo's must be required to transfer all elephants to appropriate Sanctuaries, Where the elephants can live in environments more suitable and similar to their native habitat and recieve proper medical treatment for their ailments. Historically most elephants will respond rapidly to the new conditions and be able to live a normal life expectancy. I served in the Vietnam War and saw many magnificent elephants in the wild and those that I was close enough to view had none of the medical problems the Zoo's have imposed on the elephants in captivity. This BARBARIC,INHUMANE TREATMENT MUST BE STOPPED NOW!!!
