public comment on federal register of 7/2/07 vol 72 #126 pg 35909
aphis 7 cfr part 305 docket 2006 0050
this agency only talks to profiteers and so the regulations that they routinely allow
are in the profiteers favor. they do not adequately protect the public and that is
what is lacking in all of these regulations. these regulations in fact have allowed
hundreds of foreign insects to enter this country, which are causing millions of
trees to be cut down, invasive plants to take hold requiring billions of dollars to
destroy, and endless foreign insects to destroy native vegetation.
the regulations are always too lax and the taxpayers end up paying through the
nose for it. we need tighter regulations than this proposed one, which is simply
another easy way out for profiteers.
this agency needs much more consumer input than is presently located on any of
the boards that make decisions on our food. we may not pay that much at the
market for the foods, yet the side effects are killing american taxpayers.
no industry should be regulated only by those who profit from it. get more
consumers on these boards.
