No food irradiation!!! Consumers are OPPOSED to food irradiation!! Dangerous!! irradiation: forms volatile toxic chemicals such as benzene and toluene; causes stunted growth in lab animals fed irradiated foods; and was legalized in defiance of FDA’s own regulations and guidelines that mandate a thorough health and safety review. numerous published studies on potential mutagenic effects (involving potential damage to genes) in mammals, as well as the important 2001 study that linked colon tumor promotion in laboratory rats to new chemical compounds that are found only in irradiated foods, known as 2-alkylcyclobutanones (2-ACBs).
