I am opposed to genetically modified anything entering our food stream. There are
very possible grave consequences that can occur when we tweek nature in this way.
The fact that may GEO's are classified as pesticides is highly disturbing, as we know,
pesticides are detrimental to our health as well as the health of our soils and water
supply. Proper labelling of food is necessary and the responsible thing for the FDA to
do. All food containing GEO's needs to be labelled, as there are many allergies that can
be affected when GEO's are not properly marked. People should also be able to make
a choice if they do not want to eat these food products.Seeds should not be owned by
large corporations that control the market and convince farmers that they are superior
to other varieties. As a nation, if we truly want food security we need to research how
other people in the world grow successfully to nourish thier soil, while providing healthy
food for people and planet. Please reconsider the repurcutions of this grand
experiment and take necessary precautions if you are going to continue to allow these
food products in our market.
