Why is government getting into goats? I can see why cattle, sheep, hogs and
animals for export may be studied, because they are consumed for food, but we
do not export goat meat and it is not sold in the markets. Goats are relatively free
from diseases and used mainly in the US as backyard milkers for the family, and
4H projects for children to show at fairs. Government time and money should be
spent eliminating the practices incurred in allowing feed containing animal
parts/by products to feed lots who feed cattle that is consumed by the public.
Beef is such poor quality now you can't even chew it. Yesterday I saw meat at
the Stater Bros. Market that had a label on the package stating it came from US-
Canada-Mexico. I don't buy meat anymore due to the poor quality, and I certainly
would NOT buy meat coming from Canada and Mexico.
Canada has had cases of mad cow disease, and Mexican cattle are full of TB. So
why don't you clean up this mess, and insist that every cow that is slaughtered for
human consumption be tested for mad cow, instead of wasting taxpayers money
on the lowly goat? This is ridiculous. Leave the goats alone.
Spend your time, efforts and taxpayers hard earned money on something that is
beneficial and constructive!!!
