To Whom It May Concern: The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Division of Plant Industry (FDACS’ DPI) appreciates the opportunity to comment on the proposed rule that designates all yellow lemons, Citrus limon, and regulated articles (hosts) for Ceratitis capitata, commonly referred to as the Mediterranean fruit fly. It is important to base and modify plant health regulations on current scientific findings; therefore, we fully support the addition of all yellow lemons as regulated host articles of the Mediterranean fruit fly. The FDACS’ DPI appreciates the due diligence of APHIS in translating the science-based information into the appropriate regulations in a timely manner. Regards, Richard Gaskalla FDACS' DPI
