I am in the US Military and have been stationed in Japan. While I was there I had the opportunity to taste Fuji apples. I have also tasted them since my return from Japan and there is very little difference. Fuji apples are very good. I do not see why the same system that is used for this product cannot be used for other products. Additionally the Japanese culture produces outstanding workers. I have personally seen how they work. The Japanese always put everything into their work and do not deviate from set procedures. For these reasons I believe that this proposed rule change is a fantastic idea. This will only benefit American economy. Being that these apples only account for less than 1 % of the overall apple imports. The economy is stimulated by competition, and with the increase in Japanese apple imports creaes more competition. As a comsumer this can only benefit me. As a final statement I say go for it.
