This is comment on Proposed Rule

Traceability for Livestock Moving Interstate

View Comment

This is just NAIS reworded. The Animal-disease Traceability Rule will put an unreasonable burden on the small producer, in a time when our economic situation is bleak. Record keeping for five years is an unreasonable aspect of this rule. Most of the livestock we sell is feeder calves. Keeping records on these sales for five years will just be another burden. Missouris is Bangs free and Tuberculosis free as is most states in the U.S. We do not need more regulations to hinder the livestock industry. The nations's economic situation is already bad. The Animal-disease Traceability Rule will help to make the situtation much worse.
