To Whom It May Concern: The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Division of Plant Industry (FDACS’ DPI) reviewed Federal Register Docket No. APHIS 2010-0018 regarding the importation of fresh baby kiwi from Chile under a systems approach. FDACS’ DPI does not support the use of the recommended systems approach utilizing the following methods to mitigate the potential entry of Brevipalpus chilensis (Acari: Tenuipalpidae) into Florida until such time the system approach is demonstrated to be effective through shipments to lower risk areas of the United States. Sincerely, Richard Gaskalla
