These comments should be addressed but do not have to be made public:
1) A cold treatment alone may also be approved for Sharwill avocados from Hawaii--all cultivars, 14 days at < 1.1oC (34oF), 16 days at < 1.67oC (35oC), 18 days at < 2.2oC (36oC); heat shock pretreatment may improve quality. (Please check)
2) Page 5: water stress and nutritional deficiencies were not actually measured (as implied).
3) Page 5: soft fruit on the tree (soft fruit could also be found on the ground)
4) Page 8: 0.4 flies/trap/day: these are bait traps, so it should be pointed out that this includes males and females. Or is it just females? (This would make more sense)
5) Page 9: What about in-transit destinations, e.g. plane lands in Los Angeles then continues on to Chicago--is this allowed? perhaps say "final" destinations.
