Respectfully, As a concerned person, human, mother, and grandmother I ask that you regulate any soybean or other seed crop that has been genetically modified or engineered, for any purpose. Even with the warnings from the scientific community about toxicity from these GE/GMO crops that find their way into the food supply, directly or indirectly, non-regulation persists. When I read the statement from Monsanto's Press Secretary stating that Monsanto "only cared about making a profit and to leave it up to the USDA and FDA to decide if it was safe", I knew right then that I had to do my best to make sure that any company making any of these crops BE regulated, or better, forbidden from doing this to our people, all of our people. I'm not a scientist, but I can see what has happened to the quality of our foods in this country in the past 30 years. It is horrifying to me. Pesticides and herbicides have developed such a sophistication that the weeds and pests have grown into resistant super-threats to them, more modifications are made, the sophistication continues to develop and the crops they are to protect are no longer what they were because of these modifications to their internal molecular structure! These are poisoning our foods! The price for these seeds and the chemicals to stop the pests and weeds is exorbitant. The seeds create pollen and the characteristics can spread as unmanaged. It is too big an exposure, a threat, when the future ramifications are yet mostly unknown. Oh please, stop this nonsense. Please help the people of this country. They may, perhaps, work a little harder, but we will all benefit so greatly from non-toxic foods. Do it for the safety and health of our children and their children if nothing else. Please!
