V.B.Question 8 There is an absolute need for revision to 407.3 to both allow and encourage novel input methods in a very broad sense that go beyond a rigid tactile baseline. No specific method or method should be specified. Options for access in the underlying input platfrom should, to the degree possible, conform to standard selectable formats used with tactile input such as 10 key layouts and QWERTY so the end user can transfer known input skills in an environment lacking tactile keys with some type of audible response to the finger touching the 10 key center and the positions for F and J on QWERTY and other common standard input layouts.
