Docket 123 Handicap lifts in Swimming Pools After calling the ADA 3 times on March 14, 2012 having to leave messages, not getting a return call I am glad to see you have extended by 60 days the above legislation. No one thought about diasabled people like myself who do not need a lift to get in a pool but who need pool therapy daily in order to help them walk and for exercise. I also do not think that proper notification was not given by the ADA. Small tourist accomodations would not peruse the ADA website and therefore probably would have no idea this was coming down the line. I am not sure 60 days is long enough as the RV park we are in have order and paid for there lifts but it is still at least another 6 weeks from delivery as they are back ordered and I am betting there will be further delivery dates scheduled. Small campgrounds need to have pools open in the summer to generate revenue as I am sure they dont have $6,000.00 hanging around to pay for them. It was refreshing to find out that many complains were lodged.
