Hydraulic Fracturing is much to dangerous for the environment and the health of humans and animals. Because of the freely released Methane, into the atmosphere from leaking wells and through naturally or man made fissures in the geology, global warming will increase dramatically in the next few years. Methane is 20 to 100 times more potent as a GHG then CO2 " http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atmospheric_methane ". Hydraulic Fracturing is also a waste of money, the estimation of potential oil and gas production from fracking are grossly over estimated and won't do what the Oil & Gas Industry predicts in becoming more independent in energy consumption. To become really energy independent only renewable alternative energy will do. First of all the tremendous financial benefits the Oil & Gas Industry is receiving from tax money in form of real Dollars, tax incentives and infrastructure use have to stop. This financial assistance should be directed towards the renewable energy industry and even the private person who installs on there properties renewable technology.
