Credit scores and credit reports are used to determine whether a person
gets a good deal on a loan, pays more for insurance or gets a job.
Credit bureau mistakes are notoriously difficult to correct.
Given how important these reports and scores are to American families,
particularly in tough economic times, I would like to see the CFPB
granted full supervisory power over the large credit bureaus, the
specialty credit bureaus and the credit scoring companies, which all
act as gatekeepers to success, to protect the best interests of
consumers.
