Subject: Shine Some Light on the Misbehavior of Credit Card Companies - Disclosure of Certain Credit Card Complaint Data (Document ID CFPB-2011-0023-0001)
Dear Director Cordray and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau staff,
This is a comment on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's proposed rule, "Disclosure of Certain Credit Card Complaint Data" (76 FR 76628), Docket No. CFPB-2011-0040.
I support the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's proposal to create an online database of consumer credit card complaints.
The database would help me by allowing me to research companies before choosing a credit card. Being able to see actual customers' complaints would help me make better financial decisions and avoid bad actors.
In addition, the database would make the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau more transparent by making more information available online.
I support government transparency and making useful information like this available to consumers. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau should move forward and create its database of credit card complaints.
Thank you for your consideration of my comments. Please do NOT add my name to your mailing list. I will learn about future developments on this issue from other sources.
Sincerely,
Christopher Lish
